Another great year in the books…

Another year of The Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth has come and gone. The 10 days where Calgary turns into the wild wild west is always a fantastic experience. The Calgary Stampede plays a key economic role in the province and encourages many international visitors to our fine city and Genesis Aviation is proud to participate in this event that highlights community spirit, volunteerism and a celebration of our western roots.

This year we participated in the 1st Annual Brakeman Foundation Stampede Brunch at Ranchman’s. This event highlighted 2 cornerstone Calgary sporting events: the 100 year anniversary of chuckwagon racing, and our CFL team, the Calgary Stampeders. This event also benefited a charity that is near and dear to our hearts, Zero Hungry Kids. The goal of Zero Hungry Kids is to make it so no child in our city goes hungry. With projects currently in 3 cities, Zero Hungry Kids fills industrial-sized fridges with milk for our most vulnerable kids in kindergarten to grade 6. We are passionate about this initiative and are committed to continuing to support Zero Hungry Kids as they expand and provide essential nutrition to children in Alberta who go to school hungry.

We also celebrated 100 years of chuckwagon racing with a Genesis Aviation tarp on a chuckwagon on the opening night of Stampede! The 2023 Calgary Stampede was the second highest in attendance ever (second only to 2012), with just over 1.4 million attendees. The vibrancy of our city was on full display and predictably, we navigated hot, sunny weather, along with sporadic dramatic storms. It wouldn’t be a Stampede without it!

What we enjoy most about Stampede season is the celebration of community, volunteerism and a nod to our western heritage. At Genesis Aviation, we understand how important strong relationships and a culture of trust and respect are to moving business forward. These same values are magnified during the Calgary Stampede and we are always happy to be part of the energy in the city.

It was so nice to see many of our clients and friends during the 10 days of Stampede and we look forward to continuing to stay in touch throughout the year.
