A time for thanksgiving and generosity

We look forward every year to this beautiful season between Thanksgiving and Christmas where we turn our attention to gratitude and generosity. Our Canadian and American clients have celebrated Thanksgiving and we are moving into the holiday season, a time for community and family to connect, as well as a time of reflection, for the many gifts we have and the ways we can create a positive impact on the world around us. 

We know there are many difficulties for so many people in the world. It’s easy to feel far removed from geo-political conflict, social and economic challenges, and disease and devastation that is a reality for many. At Genesis Aviation, we are committed to serve the community we live and work in and to look for ways to offer what we can to the wider world. We want to take a minute to highlight some incredible organizations that are doing important work in the world. We are proud to partner with these organizations and are committed to supporting them throughout the year.

Zero Hungry Kids

It is unimaginable that in a city like Calgary, so many children face food insecurity. But the reality is that 1 in 5 kids in Calgary live in a home in a precarious financial position where they do not have access to proper nutrition. Zero Hungry Kids is doing what they can to make sure that all kids have access to a nutritious breakfast by having fridges placed in school with fresh milk for kids who need it. Home Of Hope

Home of Hope is a charity dedicated to supporting moms and children in Africa by helping them find employment through a variety of different projects and initiatives. Home of Hope has incredible programs such as the Animal Project where people can donate the gift of animals to feed and provide for women, offering them a source of revenue, The Dream Centre, a place dedicated to rescuing babies who have been abandoned and nursing them back to health, and many other financial, medical, and social support programs. Heather recently had the opportunity to travel to Rwanda with Home Of Hope and experienced firsthand the life-saving work of the organization. We are deeply moved by the work this organization is doing and are proud to support them financially as well as through volunteer engagement in their work. Joy Smith Foundation

The Joy Smith Foundation is another incredible non-profit doing imperative work in Canada, focused on preventing human trafficking and supporting survivors of human trafficking. They are a national leader in educating, and using this education as a primary tool of prevention, collaboration between agencies, trusting that working together makes us more impactful, and healing, making sure that survivors have access to the right services to support them in their unique and complex healing journey.
